The 2014 trip was the beginning of putting all the previous research into action. The primary objectives of the 2014 team was to begin to co-design and co-construct an Edu-Play facility for the young females of the village to use, undertake a further heritage analysis on the local village well and provide a preliminary design for the following year, continue research on developing ideas and needs for a sanitary facility in the years to come, as well as conduct some final analysis and community consultations to give the following years a greater chance of successful projects in the future. The Edu-Play facility was built step by step in a completely collaborative environment, ensuring that a strong sense of ownership and empowerment was inherent in all aspects of the process, design, construction and completion. These objectives were instrumental in bringing the village together in an attempt to solve some of the issues that were previously identified in the research of the previous years, with a particular focus on bringing together and empowering the females of the village. The sanitation stream was instrumental in empowering the women of the village by establishing a women’s committee to take responsibility for the proposed future public toilet facility, as well as taking responsibility for sanitation and hygiene education. This was a special year, given that past dreams were finally made into a reality, solidifying the on-going partnerships involved in developing the village.
